About the artist

A native of New Orleans, LA...Mishalene has lived coast to coast and now resides in Medina, OH. Coming from a background of creatives, her mother painted when she was younger and her father was magic in the kitchen. Mishalene's first art was culinary, creating anything she could think of, especially for her relatives with allergies, she customized everything so they would never miss out on the foods they loved! Isabelle's Ink was developed when Mishalene started to explore more than her kitchen...her artistic palette.

Her daughter, Isabelle Lois, went to heaven the night she was born on Aug 8, 2008. Wanting to honor her memory by doing something only God could have led her to, the proceeds made will be giving back to their community. They have shopped toys & clothes for children in need, volunteered at the Office for Older Adults throughout Medina County: shopping for a senior, teaching art classes and creating annual fundraisers as a board member for the Medina Co. Senior & Adult Foundation, "Giving in Style" and "Dancing with the Medina Stars". The "Marketplace at Heartland" was also founded to support local artists in the community, while giving back. Mishalene's proceeds from the vendor fees are donated back to those In need. In 2023, Cups Cafe received $900+ and Habitat for Humanity over $700! This is all done for the love of her sweet Isabelle. So, if you buy one of her pieces or order something custom, know that it has been prayed over in memory of her.

Isabelle's Ink can be found at Bella Moxie in Medina and at Danilly Designs In Berea. II Art collaborates with Angela from KNA designs for unique locally sourced handmade charcuterie boards and projects for our art workshops! We offer Art Retreats and classes at her home including yoga around the pool, a gourmet coursed meal with wine, followed by an art class. In 2023 we have hosted alcohol ink and resin classes at local Medina stores: Bella Moxie, The Common Grounds and Danilly Designs In Berea. This has developed into our brand "L'Atelier For You" which is french for workshop.

Thank you for all of the love and support!

With Much Love, Mishalene + Isabelle's Ink
